Rev. Isabella Puapuaga Barrett, who we affectionately call "Pastor Bella," grew up in Kalihi and graduated from Farrington High School in 1995. After high school graduation, she moved to California and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy/Theology and a Master of Education, both from Point Loma Nazarene University. She has served as both a private and public school teacher over the last 14 years with teaching credentials in California, Oklahoma, and Hawaii. Her range of teaching experience extends from pre-school and elementary aged students to middle school and high school. She recently transferred back to elementary after teaching at the high school level for five years. She will be teaching 1st grade at Ewa Beach Elementary School. Her passion for the youth, education and her connection to the Ewa Beach community as an educator pairs well with her role as our senior pastor. While working as a teacher, Pastor Bella successfully completed the Ministerial Course of Study, taking courses at Point Loma Nazarene University, Nazarene Bible College and the HIPAC district. She was ordained by the Church of the Nazarene on the Hawaii Pacific district as an Elder in July 2021.

Supporting and encouraging her throughout her ministerial journey is her husband Troy Barrett. Pastor Bella and Troy have been married for 26 years. During those years, Troy served in the U. S. Army and U.S. Navy for a combined total of sixteen years. He is a licensed practical nurse and is currently studying to become a registered nurse at Kapiolani Community College.  Together, they have five beautiful children: four girls and one boy. Of those five, three are college aged, one is in high school and the youngest is in elementary school.
